Implementing a color-coding system helps prevent the transmission of diseases between different animal groups, pens, or sections. Each section is assigned tools and clothing in a specific color, which are exclusively worn and used within that area. This reduces the risk of germs being carried from sections with sick animals to sections with healthy animals via staff clothing or equipment like brooms.

While clothing and equipment can be separated using a color-coding system, employees or visitors do not just stay in one section but move throughout the entire farm. With proper personal hygiene and the right measures, the transmission of germs via humans can be reduced. These include:
- Keeping a visitor log
- Washing hands and showering
- Regularly disinfecting hands
- Cleaning and disinfecting boots

Hygienic drinking water system: Clean drinking water
Water is the most important feed for your animals, regardless of the species. However, it can also become a source of infection if water lines are not clean or are coated with a biofilm. This is because biofilm contains viruses, bacteria, and fungi that will not disappear simply by flushing and disinfecting the lines. Therefore, consistent removal of the biofilm and regular cleaning and disinfection of the drinking water are essential to prevent the transmission of diseases.
